Selsey West Sussex
Background
We moved to Selsey, West Sussex 12 months ago from Buckinghamshire with the intention of developing the house we purchased, over a period of time.
The project brief and progress
The house was a 1930’s detached property in need of updating. The ground floor needed a complete refurbishment including combining an existing sunroom, toilet and kitchen into a new kitchen and dining room with a relocated separate WC. All rooms were to have electric under floor heating and new stone tile floors fitted. There were several different floor levels, which would have to be overcome. Removal of the existing WC would also require knitting the new kitchen ceiling into the vaulted ceiling of the sunroom. All walls and ceilings were to be re-plastered. New French doors and windows were to be installed and then all rooms completely re-decorated.
Two new window openings would have to be created in the new WC and remodeled kitchen.
The soil stack serving the whole house needed replacing and several waste pipes relocating.
The 8m x 4m lounge was to be stripped, rewired and re plastered. Underfloor heating and wood flooring would have to end at the same height as the new kitchen/diner and through into the hallway and front room for Phase 2.
Our customers wished to have the latest available LED room stats and provision for HDMI and wifi cables at the time of the rewire.
The client was to remain living in the house whilst the refurb took place.
